Case Studies

• Every laptop in the COE LI is equipped to record digital audio. COE students can use nothing more than the laptop, with the included software, to record samples of K12 students reading, interviews, and discussion groups.

• Garageband is the easiest application included with our LI laptops to use to create these recordings. iMovie can also be used. Other audio programs, some commercial and some free, are available on the internet and elsewhere. An external microphone can be used and may improve audio quality, but the built-in microphone will also work just fine.

• Bookmarks can be added to audio recordings to mark significant events and allow the user to access that part of the recording directly.
